YOLO Short Films

Filmed in the remains of Soweto’s historic Sans Souci Cinema (1948-1998), YOLO is a makeshift structuralist mash-up created in collaboration with the Eat My Dust youth collective.

Born in 1976, Ben Russell is an American media artist and curator whose films, installations and performances foster a deep engagement with the history and semiotics of the moving image. A 2008 Guggenheim Fellow and 2010 FIPRESCI award recipient, Russell has had solo screenings the Rotterdam and Venice film festivals.
