Description

From Oscar®-nominated director Hiromasa Yonebayashi and Oscar®-nominated producer Yoshiaki Nishimura comes a dazzling, beautifully animated new adventure for all ages. MARY AND THE WITCH’S FLOWER is based on Mary Stewart’s 1971 children’s book “The Little Broomstick,” and tells the story of a young girl who discovers a flower that grants magical powers, but only for one night.

Bios

Born in Japan, Hiromasa Yonebayashi studied design at the Kanazawa College of Art. In 1996 he joined Studio Ghibli, where he made his feature debut as director of THE SECRET WORLD OF ARRIETTY (2010), followed by WHEN MARNIE WAS THERE (2014). MARY AND THE WITCH’S FLOWER is his third film as a director.
