Following the program, AFI Festivals Programmer Eric Moore leads a conversation between filmmakers Yi Tang (BLACK GOAT), Em Weinstein (IN FRANCE MICHELLE IS A MAN’S NAME), Seungee Kim (TIGER & OX), Erica Tremblay (LITTLE CHIEF), Inès Girihiwe (BREAKING GROUND), Johnson Cheng (LONELY BLUE NIGHT), Kimi Howl Lee (CHILD OF LAND).

Mistreated in her relationship, a young woman decides to change the course of her life, let go for once and do as she pleases.

Bio

Inès Girihirwe is a film writer and director based in Kigali, Rwanda. She is currently finishing her bachelor’s degree in filmmaking and is set to graduate in late 2020. Her work is inspired by different aspects of life, especially our innermost struggles. BREAKING GROUND is her first film.
