Description

Unable to return home to attend Grandma’s funeral because of immigration bureaucracy, a young Singaporean girl new to America searches for Grandma’s reincarnation in a pet store turtle.

Bios

Siyou Tan is an LA-based filmmaker originally from Singapore. Her short HELLO AHMA premiered in competition at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival. She was a fellow at the 2018-19 AFI Directing Workshop for Women and the 2019 Asian Film Academy at the Busan International Film Festival. She is a film graduate of Wesleyan University.
