Alan J. Pakula’s SOPHIE’S CHOICE stars Meryl Streep in an Academy Award®- winning performance as Sophie, a Polish immigrant and Holocaust survivor living in a post-war Brooklyn boardinghouse. Her romantic relationship with Nathan (Kevin Kline) is seen through the perspective of friend and aspiring writer, Stingo as he begins to discover their secrets.

Alan J. Pakula was a New York-based director, writer, producer and three-time Academy Award® nominee for TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD (1962), ALL THE PRESIDENT’S MEN (1976) and SOPHIE’S CHOICE (1982). He made his feature debut in 1969 with THE STERILE CUCKOO and directed KLUTE, the first installment of his “paranoia trilogy,” in 1971.
